Detlef Geerlings

I was born in Veldhoven in the Netherlands. Shortly thereafter my parents moved to Eindhoven, where I grew up. I lived in Taiwan when my father worked there for Philips.

I went to Wageningen to study Food Technology at the Agricultural University there.  After finishing university, I joined Heineken.  After different positions in Holland, France and Zaire. I left Heineken and joined Lever Industrial as a project manager for brewery industry cleaning.  Lever Industrial was merged with Diversey to form DiverseyLever. Later DiverseyLever was sold by Unilever to JWP and JohnsonDiversey was formed.  In 2010 the company was renamed Diversey as the Johnson’s pulled out. In 2011, Sealed Air, bought Diversey. In 2017 Diversey was sold to Bain Capital and became an independent company. In 2021 Diversey was listed on the Nasdaq and became a public company. In 2023, Diversey was acquired by Solenis. Since I joined the company I have worked in R&D, marketing and account management and sales support.

I now work for the Food & Beverage part of Diversey as Business Development Director and I am a board member of our company’s pension fund.

When I am not working, I enjoy playing with my dog Guus, traveling, diving with Hi-Dive, photography, cooking, reading and collecting stamps from old Germany.
