Our first stop was Cuzco, high up in the Andes. It is a mixture of Inca and Spanish influence and a very friendly town.

The main reason to make a stop in Peru was to visit Machu Pitchu, the old Inca city in the mountains and one of the new world wonders. It takes a long train journey (or a several day hike) to get there but it is well worth it. It is a beautiful place and we had good weather to make it even better. Notice the seamless and cement free way the Inca’s build.

In Lima the centre is definitively Spanish. A cathedral with the remains of Pizzaro and the San Francisco monastery with the remains of over 30.000 people are the things we saw in the centre. We had great food and views from Lancomar shopping centre.
