The Potzdammer Platz is the architectural centre of modern Berlin. This area was in no-mans land in the cold war and was barren because of the bombing in the Second World War. When the wall fell in 1989, it became The area to build the offices for the new Berlin

History and especially the Second World War has a prominent position in Berlin. On the left the Topography of Terror an outdoor museum on the location of the former SS Headquarter to remember those people killed and tortured by the SS and SA. On the right the Holocost monument.

Near Berlin, in Potsdam, the German Emperors had their Palace. Sans Souchi was built by Fredrick the Great and extended by all rulers after him. It is a wonderful set of Palaces and Gardens.
