Kenya 2004
--The Quest for
the big five--
We started this holiday in Mombasa in Neptune Beach Hotel |
We visited the city, Haller Park, which
is a old cement quarry turned into a mini safari park and got ourselves
soaked looking for dolphins. |
The first park we visited was Tsavo East National Park, one of
the biggest parks in Kenya and famous for it’s “red” elephants. |
Next was Tsavo West National Park, where we
had a very nice lodge and Hippo’s passing between the cottages at night. |
In Amboseli, at the foot of the
Kilimanjaro, we saw a hyena with cubs. |
At Lake Nakuru, we only
had little time, but we managed to see both a Rhino with a calf and a Leopard |
Pelicans over Lake Nakuru, with Flamingos in
the background |
Relaxing en route to Masai Mara |
In Masai Mara we saw the trek of the
Wildebeasts, millions of them migrate to fresh pastures and with them
hundreds of preditors. |
Not all Wildebeasts make it, a fresh kill by
two cheetahs |
By the Mara river with Hippos on the other
shore. |
