Granada is one of the most beautiful cities
in Southern Spain. It is close the beaches and mountains, it has a University
and last but not least, the Alhambra, the castle which housed the Moorish
rulers of Spain, called Andalucía at that time. |

|
|
|
The Alhambra
consists of several palaces and pavilions with reflecting pools and intricate
geometrical designs. It is a Unesco world heritage site. |

One of the main sights in Sevilla is the cathedral. It is
the largest Gothic church in the world and it houses the grave of Christopher
Columbus. |
||
|
||
The area around the Plaza d’ Espagna was
built for the 1929 world fair and is still a very attractive area to visit. |

Like Granada, Sevilla has it’s Moorish
monument, the
Alcazar. Parts of this Palace which was built in the 1500’s is still in
use by the Spanish Royal family today. Most of the Palace and the gardens
however are open to visitors. |
