The dome of the Duomo is a famous landmark, but not only the exterior
is worth seeing. |

Across the square is the Baptistery, which has beautiful gold doors
and also a very nice inside with mosaics. |

The Santa Maria del Carmine is a non descript church outside the
centre but the Capella Brancacci has a series of fresco’s by Masolino and his
students about the life of St. Peter which made him the pioneer of
Renaissance art. |

The black and white Duomo in Sienna is one
of the most beautiful churches in the world. Both the outside and the inside
are superbly decorated and very well balanced. |

Inside the Duomo there is a library with old
books and frescos on the walls and the ceiling. |

Lucca is a peaceful town with the city walls
still intact. There are many quite streets and beautiful churches. |
